Belhaven Brewery

We start our journey traveling east of Edinburgh to Scotland’s oldest working brewery. Lying serenely among the abundant barley fields of the beautiful East Lothian coast, Belhaven Brewery welcomes us with over three hundred years of brewing tradition. Here we experience the marriage of age-old brewing methods with innovative techniques that produce some of Scotland’s most beloved beers, all from local barley lovingly grown in the surrounding farmland. We discover the craft and tradition of the Scottish brewing process from the passionate artisans themselves – and of course, indulge in a tasting of their award-winning creations.

North Berwick

We continue along Scotland’s dramatic eastern coastline and past Whitekirk, a tiny village with a rich history and a remarkable church with origins dating back almost 900 years. We also pass nearby Tantallon Castle, a grand medieval stronghold partially destroyed in a siege but still rising imposingly from a precarious cliff edge above the sea.

Next we reach the charming coastal town of North Berwick, home to sweeping beaches and world-renowned golf courses. A real hidden gem off the beaten track, this welcoming town offers us the perfect place to stop for a leisurely lunch and enjoy the local life bustling around us.

Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery

Our final stop takes us to the Lowland home of world-famous Johnnie Walker, nestled in the rolling farmland and sweet-scented wildflowers of Scotland’s southeastern coast. Glenkinchie Distillery provides us with an intimate look into the art of whisky making, giving us the insider view of the process from start to finish. Here we meet the Victorian distillery’s skilled staff, learn about the rich heritage of their craft, and indulge in a tasting of the fruits of their labour: the fine single malts that are enjoyed around the globe and . Glenkinchie’s spirit is a testament to the subtleties of Lowland whisky, offering a smooth and aromatic finish to our journey before we return to Edinburgh.
